Feuding judges Nicky Minaj and Mariah Carey have confirmed that they won’t be returning to American Idol for the start of next series.
The two divas have kept viewers entertained with their catty exchanges both on and off screen, however they have chosen not to come back to the show for more of the same. We wonder why?
Veteran judge Randy Jackson also confirmed his exit from the programme recently leaving only Keith Urban on the panel for the time being.
In a statement the show’s producers were particularly gushing about what Mariah and Nicky brought to the reality TV competition, with them saying about Carey:
“She is a true global icon one of the most accomplished artists on the planet and we feel extremely fortunate that she was able to bring her wisdom and experience to the American Idol contestants this season.”
Of Minaj they added: “[she] is a superstar who brought a level of honesty and passion to American Idol.”
The two popstars were brought onto the show to replace Steve Tyler and Jennifer Lopez, the latter of whom revealed during an interview this week that she’s not considering a return to American Idol for the time being.
