Mariah Carey & Nicky Minaj confirm their exit from American Idol

Feuding judges Nicky Minaj and Mariah Carey have confirmed that they won’t be returning to American Idol for the start of next series.

The two divas have kept viewers entertained with their catty exchanges both on and off screen, however they have chosen not to come back to the show for more of the same. We wonder why?

Veteran judge Randy Jackson also confirmed his exit from the programme recently leaving only Keith Urban on the panel for the time being.

In a statement the show’s producers were particularly gushing about what Mariah and Nicky brought to the reality TV competition, with them saying about Carey:

“She is a true global icon one of the most accomplished artists on the planet and we feel extremely fortunate that she was able to bring her wisdom and experience to the American Idol contestants this season.”

Of Minaj they added: “[she] is a superstar who brought a level of honesty and passion to American Idol.”

The two popstars were brought onto the show to replace Steve Tyler and Jennifer Lopez, the latter of whom revealed during an interview this week that she’s not considering a return to American Idol for the time being.

Jennifer Lopez covers up after her BGT appearance for a trip to Radio One

For those of you who saw Jennifer Lopez’s performance on Britain’s Got Talent the other night, it will either be a massive relief or a gigantic annoyance to see that she has totally covered up her body again.

The singer arrived at the Radio One studios in London earlier wearing jeans, a white blazer and shirt paired with some pink studded boots. The look was a drastic departure from the one sported by her on ITV the other evening which saw her decked out in the most invasive leotard we’ve ever seen (seriously, there was not one crevasse that bad boy didn’t cling to).

The ensemble, coupled with some crotch wiggling dance moves, led some concerned viewers to complain to Ofcom, the broadcasting regulatory body. They have subsequently confirmed that they are looking into the complaints however are not yet launching an official investigation.

During her appearance on Radio One, Jennifer of course didn’t speak about the who-ha surrounding her performance on BGT (why the hell would she?) but she did do some talking about her time on American Idol. She revealed that though she has no intention of going back to the show right now, she wouldn’t rule out a return in the future.

“I feel like it’s in the past for me,” she said. “But I don’t know – they’re a little bit like the Mafia with it! They drag you back in just when you thought you were out!”

“I performed on the finale and I saw everybody, and everybody’s like, ‘We miss you! We want you back!’ I was like, ‘Oh, okay, we’ll see…’

“But I love everybody over there, and I love the show.”

Katherine Jenkins denies diva demands got her ditched from Warners

Opera singer Katherine Jenkins has confirmed reports today that she’s left her music label Warners, however firmly denied claims that she’s parted company with the giant because of alleged “diva” like behaviour.

The star took to Twitter to tell her followers that she’s no longer with Warners having come to the end of a “three album” deal and said she looks back on her time at the label with nothing but “happiness.” She also added that she’s got an exciting project in the pipeline.

A report at the Daily Mail however paints a very different picture of her departure, claiming that music executives “ditched” her because she’d lost them £2million and had demanded £1,500 a day hair and make up sessions while touring or doing public appearances.

In response to that Katherine told her followers on Twitter:

“When I attended my first ever Brits a lady journo from the Daily Mail told me: ‘we love you at our paper but sooner or later we are going to have to start trashing you.’”

“Sadly, that day is well and truly here. I personally am getting pretty sick of all the hatred and venom coming from one source. It’s totally unnecessary.”
